Granby: Kasatkina wins the title

Russian Daria Kasatkina, the top seed, won the Granby tournament by defeating Australian Daria Saville, the No 9 seed, 6-4, 6-4 on Saturday.
This is her 6th trophy in career, the second in 2022. Kasatkina, Roland-Garros semi-finalist, will be ranked WTA number 9 on Monday, number 3 at the Race.
Ahead of her victory, Kasatkina, ranked No 10, beat Belgian Greet Minnen (6-7 (4), 6-4, 6-2), Pole Magdalena Frech (6-3, 6-2), Spaniard Nuria Parrizas Diaz, the No 5 seed (6-3, 6-2) and Frenchwoman Diane Parry (6-2, 6-0).
Saville, ranked No 73, defeated Slovak Anna Karolina Schmiedlova (6-3, 6-3), Canadian Katherine Sebov (6-1, 6-0), Chinese Xiyu Wang (6-3, 6-0) and Ukrainian Marta Kostyuk, the No 10 seed (W/O) earlier in the tournament.
