Canadian Rebecca Marino, the No 8 seed, reached the quarter-finals of the Lexus Ilkley Open by winning against wildcard Emily Appleton 2-6, 6-4, 6-3 on Thursday.
Marino, ranked No 107, will face Filipino Alexandra Eala, the top seed, next.
Ahead of her victory, the 34-year-old Canadian defeated Frenchwoman Jessika Ponchet (6-4, 6-4).
Appleton, ranked No 395, won against Swiss Simona Waltert (3-6, 6-4, 6-3) in the previous round.
