Colombian Camila Osorio won against Frenchwoman Alize Cornet, the No 3 seed, 6-4, 4-6, 6-1 to reach the second round of the Lyon Open at the Palais des Sports de Gerland Lyon on Monday.
Osorio, ranked No 73, will face the winner of the match between Serb qualifier Olga Danilovic and German Jule Niemeier next.
