American Sachia Vickery reached the last 16 of the Mexico Series Puerto Vallarta 125 by beating Slovak Anna Karolina Schmiedlova, the top seed, 6-2, 6-0 on Monday evening.
Vickery, ranked No 137, will face the winner of the match between Colombian Emiliana Arango and Ukrainian Yulia Starodubtseva next.
