Canadian Open: Rybakina in a hurry against Stephens

Kazakh Elena Rybakina, the No 3 seed, moved into the last 8 of the Canadian Open by beating American Sloane Stephens 6-3, 6-3 at Stade IGA in Montreal on Friday night.

Rybakina, ranked No 4, will play Russian Daria Kasatkina, the No 10 seed, next.

The Kazakh won against American Jennifer Brady (6-7 (3), 7-6 (5), 6-3) in the previous round of the Rogers Cup.

In the previous rounds of the Rogers Cup, Stephens, ranked No 38, defeated Ukrainian Anhelina Kalinina (6-4, 7-6 (2)) and Belarusian Victoria Azarenka, the No 16 seed (W/O).
