American Lauren Davis, the No 6 seed, defeated Swede wildcard Kajsa Rinaldo Persson 6-2, 6-1 to reach the second round of the Nordea Open at Båstad Tennisstadion in Bastad on Monday.
Davis, ranked No 102, will play the winner of the match between American Francesca Di Lorenzo and Ukrainian Katarina Zavatska next.
