American lucky loser Varvara Lepchenko won against Slovak Rebecca Sramkova, the No 8 seed, 7-6 (5), 7-5 to advance to the last 16 of the Oeiras Ladies Open on Tuesday evening.
Lepchenko, ranked No 258, will face Austrian Sinja Kraus next.
