Swiss Viktorija Golubic, the No 7 seed, advanced to the final of the Open BLS de Limoges when Spaniard Nuria Parrizas Diaz, the No 6 seed, retired on Saturday.
Golubic, ranked No 109, led 7-6 (2), 1-0 when Parrizas Diaz, ranked No 100, pulled out on Saturday evening.
The Swiss will play Swiss Celine Naef next.
Viktorija Golubic defeated Russian lucky loser Ekaterina Makarova (6-4, 6-1), Georgian Mariam Bolkvadze (6-4, 6-4) and French wildcard Carole Monnet (4-6, 6-0, 7-5) in the previous rounds.
Earlier in the tournament, the 33-year-old Spaniard won against Swiss Jil Teichmann (6-4, 3-6, 7-5), Austrian wildcard Lilli Tagger (6-1, 6-3) and American Varvara Lepchenko (6-3, 6-2).
