Wildcard Kvitova downs Badosa to reach Ostrava quarter-finals
Petra Kvitova defeated Paula Badosa 7-6 (4), 6-4 on Wednesday evening and will play the winner of the match between Belarusian Aliaksandra Sasnovich and Kazakh Elena Rybakina in the next round

Czech Petra Kvitova took advantage of her wildcard into the Ostrava Open as she beat second seed Paula Badosa 7-6 (4), 6-4 to reach the quarter-finals at the Ostravar Aréna on Wednesday evening.
Kvitova, ranked No 20, needed eight match points to get the job done, and will now play the winner of the match between Belarusian Aliaksandra Sasnovich and Kazakh Elena Rybakina next.
The Czech edged out American qualifier Bernarda Pera (6-3, 2-6, 6-4) in the previous round of the Ostrava.
