Belgian Greet Minnen, the No 4 seed, beat Swiss Susan Bandecchi in straight sets (6-2, 6-2) to move into the quarter-finals of the Polish Open on Wednesday.
Minnen, ranked No 113, will now play German Eva Lys, the No 9 seed, next.
Ahead of her victory, the Belgian won against Croat Petra Marcinko (6-1, 6-0). Bandecchi, ranked No 446, defeated Lucie Havlickova (7-6 (4), 7-5) in the previous round.
