Polish Open: Sonmez reaches quarter-finals

Zeynep Sonmez moved into the last eight of the Polish Open by winning against Slovak Rebecca Sramkova in three sets (1-6, 6-4, 6-1) on Wednesday.
Sonmez, ranked No 193, will face the winner of the match between German qualifier Noma Noha Akugue and Czech qualifier Gabriela Knutson next.
Zeynep Sonmez beat Slovenian Dalila Jakupovic (3-6, 6-4, 6-3) ahead of her victory. In the previous round, Sramkova, ranked No 155, defeated Italian Lucrezia Stefanini, the second seed (6-4, 5-7, 6-2).
