Puerto Vallarta Open: Lucky loser Kessler makes it all the way to the final
The American will face Australian wildcard Taylah Preston for the title.

Lucky loser Mccartney Kessler won against No 7 seed Hailey Baptiste 6-4, 6-4 to advance to the final of the Puerto Vallarta Open on Saturday.
Kessler, ranked No 153, now improves to 3-0 lifetime against Baptiste and will face Australian wildcard Taylah Preston for the title on Sunday.
Mccartney Kessler, a recent University of Florida graduate, defeated Serb Natalija Stevanovic (6-3, 6-1), No 6 seed Claire Liu (6-4, 6-3) and Frenchwoman Leolia Jeanjean (6-2, 6-1) ahead of her victory.
Earlier in the tournament, Baptiste, ranked No 114, won against Argentinian Martina Capurro Taborda (6-1, 6-3), Belarusian qualifier Iryna Shymanovich (6-0, 6-1) and qualifier Robin Montgomery (4-6, 6-1, 6-2).
