Qatar Open: Ostapenko brushes aside Kalinina to move into last 16

Latvian Jelena Ostapenko, the No 8 seed, reached the last 16 of the Qatar Open by beating Ukrainian Anhelina Kalinina 6-0, 6-3 at the Khalifa International Tennis and Squash Complex in Doha.

This win was the Latvian’s 14th of the season, having only recorded two losses over the four events she has played.

Ostapenko, ranked No 11, will play Belarusian Victoria Azarenka next.

In the previous round of the Qatar tournament, Kalinina, ranked No 30, won against wildcard Emma Raducanu (6-0, 7-6 (6)).
