Egypt’s Mayar Sherif beat Russian Kamilla Rakhimova 6-0, 6-1 to reach the final of the Rabat Open at Union Sportive des Cheminots du Maroc on Friday.
Sherif, ranked No 66, will face American Peyton Stearns next.
The Egyptian won against Moroccan wildcard Aya El Aouni (6-2, 6-1), Argentinian Maria Lourdes Carle (6-3, 6-2) and Spaniard Sara Sorribes Tormo, the No 3 seed (6-3, 6-3) earlier in the week.
In the previous rounds of the tournament, Rakhimova, ranked No 105, defeated American Taylor Townsend (2-0 ret.), Italian qualifier Camilla Rosatello (4-0 ret.) and Italian Elisabetta Cocciaretto, the No 7 seed (7-5, 7-5).
