Raducanu reaches quarter-finals at Queen’s, will retake British No 1 ranking

Emma Raducanu won against Rebecca Sramkova 6-4, 6-1 on Thursday evening. She’ll face the winner of the match between Chinese Qinwen Zheng, the top seed, and American McCartney Kessler in the next round

Wild card Emma Raducanu advanced to the quarter-finals of the Queen’s by winning against Slovak Rebecca Sramkova 6-4, 6-1 at Queen’s Club in London on Thursday evening.

Raducanu, ranked No 37, will face Chinese Qinwen Zheng, the top seed, next. She will also leapfrog Katei Boulter to retake the British No 1 ranking next week.

Emma Raducanu defeated Spanish qualifier Cristina Bucsa (6-1, 6-2) in the previous round of the Queen’s tournament.

In the previous round of the Queen’s tournament, Sramkova, ranked No 41, won against No 7 seed Barbora Krejcikova (6-4, 6-3).
