Pole Magda Linette reached the last eight of the Rouen Open by beating Serb qualifier Natalija Stevanovic 6-2, 6-1 at the Kindarena on Wednesday afternoon.
Linette, ranked No 60, will face the winner of the match between Russian Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova, the top seed, and Dutchwoman Arantxa Rus next.
The Pole won against French wildcard Elsa Jacquemot (7-5, 6-1) ahead of her victory.
In the previous round of the Rouen tournament, Stevanovic, ranked No 204, edged out Russian Anna Blinkova, the No 8 seed (7-6 (2), 3-6, 7-6 (2)).
