Seoul Open: Alexandrova makes semi-finals

Russian Ekaterina Alexandrova, the second seed, won against Swiss qualifier Lulu Sun 7-5, 7-6 (6) to move into the last four of the Seoul Open at the Seoul Olympic Park on Friday.
Alexandrova, ranked No 24, will face the winner of the match between German Tatjana Maria, the No 7 seed, and Chinese Lin Zhu, the No 4 seed, next.
The Russian defeated American Asia Muhammad (6-1, 3-6, 6-1) and wildcard Na-Lae Han (6-1, 6-3) in the previous rounds of the Hana Bank Korea Open.
Earlier in the tournament, Sun, ranked No 340, won against Australian qualifier Lizette Cabrera (7-6 (6), 6-2) and Russian Anna Blinkova (6-4, 7-6 (6)).
