Anna-Lena Friedsam won against Diane Parry 1-6, 7-6 (4), 6-3 on Friday and will face the winner of the match between Czech Katerina Siniakova and Italian Jasmine Paolini in the next round
German qualifier Anna-Lena Friedsam defeated Frenchwoman Diane Parry 1-6, 7-6 (4), 6-3 to advance to the last 4 of the Slovenia Open at Tennis Arena Portoroz on Friday afternoon.
Friedsam, ranked No 213, will play the winner of the match between Czech Katerina Siniakova and Italian Jasmine Paolini next.
In the previous rounds, the German won against American wildcard Elizabeth Mandlik (0-6, 6-4, 6-1) and top seed Emma Raducanu (7-5, 0-6, 6-3).
Parry, ranked No 71, won against Croat Donna Vekic (2-6, 6-4, 6-1) and Russian Anastasia Potapova (7-6 (2), 6-4) earlier in the tournament.
