Sloane Stephens won her first title since Guadalajara in 2022, beating Magda Linette 6-1, 2-6, 6-2 to win Rouen.
It is her eighth career title, and her second on clay following her win in Charleston in 2016.
She maintains her 100 per cent head-to-head record against the Pole – although this is the first time she has dropped a set.
