Strasbourg Open: Blinkova moves into final

Russian Anna Blinkova moved into the final of the Strasbourg Open by defeating American Lauren Davis, the No 7 seed, 6-2, 6-2 at the Tennis Club de Strasbourg on Friday afternoon.
Blinkova, ranked No 66, will play the winner of the match between Frenchwoman Clara Burel and Ukrainian wildcard Elina Svitolina next.
The Russian won against Frenchwoman Amandine Hesse (4-6, 6-0, 6-4), German Anna-Lena Friedsam (6-4, 7-6 (11)) and American Emma Navarro (6-4, 6-4) earlier in the tournament.
In the previous rounds of the Strasbourg tournament, Davis, ranked No 58, beat French qualifier Sarah Iliev (7-5, 6-0), Bulgarian Viktoriya Tomova (6-4, 3-6, 6-1) and Russian wildcard Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova (1-6, 7-6 (2), 6-0).
