Russian wildcard Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova won against Pole Magda Linette, the top seed, 6-3, 6-2 to move into the quarter-finals of the Strasbourg Open at the Tennis Club de Strasbourg on Wednesday.
Pavlyuchenkova, ranked No 424, will play American Lauren Davis, the No 7 seed, next.
In the previous round of the Strasbourg tournament, the Russian beat qualifier Angelina Gabueva (6-3, 6-1).
Linette, ranked No 21, won against Spaniard Cristina Bucsa (4-6, 6-2, 6-2) in the previous round of the Strasbourg tournament.
