16-year-old Brenda Fruhvirtova created history over the weekend by winning the ITF W60 Hechingen title in Germany and in the process becoming the youngest player to win 10 ITF singles titles.

Fruhvirtova, whose elder sister Linda is already ranked 57th in the world at the age of 18, defeated Slovenian Ziva Falkner 6-3, 6-1 to claim the biggest title of her young career. She won all her five matches this week in straight sets.

The Czech’s previous titles had come at the ITF W25K (eight titles) and ITF W40 (one title) level.

Fruhvirtova, ranked No 141 at the start of the tournament, is projected to climb to No 120 when the rankings are updated with her points from this week.
