Hungarian Anna Bondar, the No 5 seed, advanced to the last 16 of the Tiriac Foundation Trophy by edging out Greek Valentini Grammatikopoulou 6-3, 2-6, 6-4 on Tuesday.
Bondar, ranked No 110, will play Belgian qualifier Marie Benoit next.
