The Frenchwoman will face American Katie Volynets in the next round

Frenchwoman Varvara Gracheva reached the last 16 of the Trophée Clarins when Romanian Ana Bogdan, the No 7 seed, retired on Monday afternoon.
Gracheva, ranked No 88, led 4-0 when Bogdan, ranked No 63, pulled out on Monday.
The Frenchwoman will play American Katie Volynets next.
