American Katie Volynets moved into the last 16 of the Trophée Clarins by winning against Belarusian Aliaksandra Sasnovich 7-5, 6-3 on Monday.
Volynets, ranked No 109, will play the winner of the match between Romanian Ana Bogdan, the No 7 seed, and Frenchwoman Varvara Gracheva next.
