Vancouver Open: Bronzetti makes final
Lucia Bronzetti defeated Rebecca Peterson 6-2, 6-2 on Saturday evening and will play the winner of the match between American Emma Navarro and Greek qualifier Valentini Grammatikopoulou in the final
Italian Lucia Bronzetti, the second seed, won against Swede Rebecca Peterson, the No 5 seed, 6-2, 6-2 to advance to the final of the Vancouver Open at Hollyburn Country Club on Saturday evening.
Bronzetti, ranked No 66, will face the winner of the match between American Emma Navarro and Greek qualifier Valentini Grammatikopoulou next.
The Italian beat qualifier Yuriko Miyazaki (6-2, 6-2), Australian qualifier Priscilla Hon (6-2, 6-3) and Andorran Victoria Jimenez Kasintseva (7-5, 6-1) in the previous rounds.
Earlier in the tournament, Peterson, ranked No 87, defeated Slovak Anna Karolina Schmiedlova (6-2, 6-2), American qualifier Catherine Harrison (W/O) and Australian Maddison Inglis (6-1, 7-6 (5)).
