Sinner moves back above Norrie in battle for remaining ATP Finals places
The Italian is now 10th in the ATP Race, with a chance to go higher if he can make a big run this week

Jannik Sinner extended his winning streak as he took care of business – in the name of Reilly Opelka – with a 6-4, 6-2 victory over the American to reach the second round of the Erste Bank Open on Wednesday.
The Italian picked up where he left off in Antwerp last week, racking up his fifth straight win and his ninth straight indoor victory to advance to a second-round match against Austria’s Dennis Novak.
It is another important week for Sinner as he tries to qualify for the season-ending ATP Finals for the first time.
The 20-year-old Italian is now back up to 10th in the ATP Race, just above Cameron Norrie, who plays his second-round match on Thursday against Felix Auger-Aliassime, another man who could yet push himself into contention for one of the two remaining spots. With Rafael Nadal (8th), Sinner is now closing in on Casper Ruud and Hubert Hurkacz, the two men above him.
Novak Djokovic, Daniil Medvedev, Stefanos Tsitsipas, Alexander Zverev, Andrey Rublev and Matteo Berrettini have all booked their places in the Finals, which this year will be played in Turin for the first time after 12 years in London.
