Qualifier Marco Cecchinato moved into the last 8 of the Croatia Open by defeating No 8 seed Lorenzo Musetti 6-4, 6-3 at the ITC Stella Maris in Umag on Thursday.
Cecchinato, ranked No 151, will play the winner of the match between Italian qualifier Franco Agamenone and Argentinian Sebastian Baez, the No 4 seed, next.
Ahead of his victory, Marco Cecchinato won against Croat wildcard Mili Poljicak (6-1, 5-7, 6-2).
Musetti, ranked No 31, beat Slovenian Aljaz Bedene (6-2, 3-6, 6-1) in the previous round of the Umag.
