Russian Anastasia Potapova, the No 4 seed, reached the last 16 of the Transylvania Open by Verdino by winning against American Ann Li 6-2, 7-6 (5) on Tuesday.
Potapova, ranked No 48, will face the winner of the match between Swiss Viktorija Golubic and Frenchwoman Diane Parry next.
