Barcelona Open: Sinner reaches quarter-finals

Italian Jannik Sinner, the No 4 seed, advanced to the last 8 of the Barcelona Open by winning against Japanese Yoshihito Nishioka, the No 16 seed, 6-1, 4-6, 6-3 at Real Club de Tenis Barcelona on Thursday.
Sinner, ranked No 8, will play the winner of the match between No 7 seed Cameron Norrie and Italian Lorenzo Musetti, the No 9 seed, next.
In the previous round of the Barcelona tournament, the 21-year-old Italian defeated Argentinian Diego Schwartzman (6-2, 6-4).
Nishioka, ranked No 35, won against Belgian David Goffin (6-1, 7-5) during the second round of the Barcelona tournament.
