Rome Masters: Cecchinato through to third round
Marco Cecchinato beat Roberto Bautista Agut 6-2, 6-2 on Sunday and will play the winner of the match between German qualifier Yannick Hanfmann and American Taylor Fritz, the No 9 seed, in the next round
Italian Marco Cecchinato reached the third round of the Rome Masters by winning against Spaniard Roberto Bautista Agut, the No 21 seed, 6-2, 6-2 at the Foro Italico on Sunday.
Cecchinato, ranked No 83, will play the winner of the match between German qualifier Yannick Hanfmann and American Taylor Fritz, the No 9 seed, next.
The Italian defeated American Mackenzie McDonald (6-3, 7-5) in the previous round of the Italian Open.
