Frenchwoman Alize Cornet, the top seed, moved into the quarter-finals of the Bari Open by edging out Greek Valentini Grammatikopoulou 4-6, 6-4, 7-5 at Circolo Tennis Bari.
Cornet, ranked No 79, will play Italian Jennifer Ruggeri next.
The 33-year-old Frenchman defeated Hungarian Reka Luca Jani (7-5, 6-4) in the previous round of the Puglia Open.
During the 32 of the Puglia Open, Grammatikopoulou, ranked No 247, won against Italian Giorgia Pedone (6-4, 6-2).
