AndorrĂ Open: Bassols Ribera beats Erika Andreeva for first career title

Spaniard Marina Bassols Ribera, the No 6 seed, beat Russian Erika Andreeva 7-5, 7-6 (3) to win the AndorrĂ Open final at Polideportivo de Andorra in Andorre on Sunday evening.
Ahead of her victory, Bassols Ribera, ranked No 145, defeated German Noma Noha Akugue (6-3, 7-5), Russian Ekaterina Reyngold (6-3, 6-2), Latvian wildcard Anastasija Sevastova (2-6, 7-6 (4), 6-4) and Frenchwoman Alize Cornet, the No 8 seed (6-4, 6-2).
Andreeva, ranked No 140, defeated Swiss Susan Bandecchi (6-3, 6-4), Swiss Celine Naef (2-6, 6-4, 6-4), German wildcard Ella Seidel (6-4, 7-5) and Heather Watson (6-7 (6), 7-5, 6-0) in the previous rounds of the AndorrĂ tournament.
