Frenchwoman Diane Parry, the top seed, beat American Robin Montgomery 7-6 (5), 6-3 to advance to the final of the Montevideo Open at the Carrasco Lawn Tennis Club on Saturday night.
Parry, ranked No 94, will play Mexican Renata Zarazua, the second seed, next.
Ahead of her victory, the 21-year-old Frenchman won against Russian Amina Anshba (7-5, 6-3), Greek Despina Papamichail (6-1, 6-2) and Argentinian Solana Sierra, the No 7 seed (2-6, 6-4, 6-0).
Montgomery, ranked No 218, defeated Spaniard Leyre Romero Gormaz (7-6 (5), 6-3), Argentinian Martina Capurro Taborda, the No 3 seed (6-1, 6-3) and Swiss Ylena In-Albon (6-2, 6-1) earlier in the tournament.
