San Luis Potosi Open: Cocciaretto makes quarter-finals

Italian Elisabetta Cocciaretto, the second seed, moved into the quarter-finals of the San Luis Potosi Open by edging out Slovenian Tamara Zidansek 3-6, 6-2, 7-5 at the Club Deportivo Potosino on Thursday night.

Cocciaretto, ranked No 51, will face Brazilian Laura Pigossi next.

The Italian won against Romanian Irina Bara (6-1, 6-2) ahead of her victory.

In the previous round of the San Luis Potosi tournament, Zidansek, ranked No 118, defeated German Jule Niemeier (6-4, 6-3).
