Nottingham Open: Boulter beats Frech in quarter-finals

No 3 seed Katie Boulter beat Pole Magdalena Frech, the No 5 seed, 6-2, 6-4 to move into the semi-finals of the Nottingham Open at Nottingham Tennis Centre on Friday afternoon.
Boulter, ranked No 30, will face the winner of the match between wildcard Francesca Jones and wildcard Emma Raducanu next.
In the previous rounds of the Nottingham tournament, Katie Boulter edged out Harriet Dart (6-7 (5), 6-4, 7-5) and won against Canadian qualifier Rebecca Marino (6-4, 6-3).
Frech, ranked No 52, defeated Japanese Nao Hibino (6-1, 6-4) and German Tatjana Maria (3-6, 6-3, 6-1) earlier in the tournament.
