American lucky loser Zachary Svajda advanced to the second round of the Winston-Salem Open by winning against Serb Laslo Djere 6-4, 6-1 at the Wake Forest Tennis Complex on Monday.
Svajda, ranked No 107, will play No 3 seed Francisco Cerundolo next.
