German Yannick Hanfmann beat American Sebastian Korda, the No 5 seed, 7-5, 6-4 to move into the last 16 of the Brisbane International on Tuesday afternoon.

After day one of play saw No 3 seed Ben Shelton suffer a first round loss, another bright star has exited early on day two as well. This time last year, Korda lit up the ATP Tour by playing some of the best tennis of his career down under. That will have to wait this year, however, as the accuracy of Hanfmann was his undoing today.

Hanfmann, ranked No 51, will play the winner of the match between American J.J. Wolf and Australian qualifier James Duckworth next.
