Serb Dusan Lajovic reached the quarter-finals of the Chile Open by edging out Argentinian qualifier Juan Manuel Cerundolo 6-2, 2-6, 7-6 (2) at the Club Universidad Católica de San Carlos de Apoquindo in Santiago on Thursday.
Lajovic, ranked No 75, will face the winner of the match between Tomas Martin Etcheverry and second seed Francisco Cerundolo next.
In the previous round of the Santiago Open, the Serb beat Argentinian qualifier Camilo Ugo Carabelli (6-1, 6-3). Cerundolo, ranked No 108, won against No 7 seed Pedro Cachin (6-4, 3-6, 6-3)
