Cincinnati Masters: Sinner gets walkover from Thompson
Jannik Sinner benefited from the withdrawal of Jordan Thompson on Friday in Cincinnati. Sinner gets a rematch with Andrey Rublev.

Italian Jannik Sinner, the top seed, reached the quarter-finals of the Cincinnati Masters after Australian Jordan Thompson withdrew before the match on Friday at the Lindner Family Tennis Center.
Sinner, ranked No 1, will face Russian Andrey Rublev, the No 6 seed, next.
The Italian beat American qualifier Alex Michelsen (6-4, 7-5) in the previous round.
Earlier in the tournament, Thompson — ranked No 32 — edged out Frenchman Ugo Humbert, the No 13 seed (3-6, 6-3, 7-6 (4)) and beat Argentinian Sebastian Baez (6-2, 6-4).
