European Open: Qualifier Marterer stuns Gasquet to move into second round
Maximilian Marterer beat Richard Gasquet 6-3, 6-4 and will play the winner of the match between Nuno Borges and Dominik Koepfer in the next round

German qualifier Maximilian Marterer reached the second round of the European Open by winning against Frenchman Richard Gasquet, the No 7 seed, 6-3, 6-4 at the Lotto Arena in Antwerp.
Marterer, ranked No 127, will face the winner of the match between Portuguese Nuno Borges and German Dominik Koepfer next.
