Fritz makes strong start in Indian Wells

American Taylor Fritz, the No 12 seed, reached the third round of the Indian Wells Masters by winning against Chilean Alejandro Tabilo 7-6 (2), 6-2 at the Indian Wells Tennis Garden on Saturday night.

Fritz, ranked No 12, will face the winner of the match between Italian wildcard Fabio Fognini and Argentinian Sebastian Baez, the No 19 seed, next.

Tabilo, ranked No 39, edged out Russian Pavel Kotov (4-6, 6-3, 7-5) in the previous round of the Indian Wells Tennis Masters.
