Hamburg Open: Cerundolo advances to last eight

Argentinian Francisco Cerundolo reached the quarter-finals of the Hamburg Open by winning against Russian Andrey Rublev, the second seed, 6-4, 6-2 at Am Rothenbaum on Thursday afternoon.

Cerundolo, ranked No 30, will play Russian Aslan Karatsev next.

In the previous round, the Argentinian beat German Daniel Altmaier (2-6, 6-4, 6-2).

Rublev, ranked No 8, defeated Lithuanian lucky loser Ricardas Berankis (6-3, 6-4) during the first round.
