Lyon Open: Etcheverry books spot in semis, faces Darderi next

Argentinian Tomas Martin Etcheverry, the No 6 seed, won against German Dominik Koepfer 6-4, 6-1 to move into the last four of the Lyon Open at Parc de la Tête d’or on Thursday.
Etcheverry, ranked No 29, will face Italian Luciano Darderi next. This is his third semi-final on the ATP Tour this season.
Ahead of his win today, the Argentine beat Spanish qualifier Nikolas Sanchez Izquierdo (1-6, 6-2, 6-2) and Brazilian Thiago Seyboth Wild (7-5, 3-0 ret.).
Koepfer, ranked No 67, edged out Spanish lucky loser Javier Barranco Cosano (6-4, 6-7 (4), 6-4) and Frenchman Ugo Humbert, the top seed (2-6, 6-4, 6-4) in the previous rounds of the Lyon tournament.
