Alex De Minaur defeated Denis Shapovalov 6-3, 7-6 (3) on Tuesday and will face the winner of the match between Greek Stefanos Tsitsipas, the No 17 seed, and Italian Lorenzo Musetti, the No 10 seed, in the next round

Australian Alex de Minaur, the No 6 seed, advanced to the last 16 of the Madrid Masters by winning against Canadian Denis Shapovalov, the No 29 seed, 6-3, 7-6 (3) at the Caja Mágica on Tuesday.
De Minaur, ranked No 7, will face the winner of the match between Greek Stefanos Tsitsipas, the No 17 seed, and Italian Lorenzo Musetti, the No 10 seed, next.
Ahead of his victory, the Australian defeated Italian Lorenzo Sonego (6-2, 6-3).
Shapovalov, ranked No 30, beat Japanese Kei Nishikori (6-1, 6-4) in the previous round of the Madrid tournament.
