Metz Open: Sixth seed Sonego advances to second round
Lorenzo Sonego edged out Marcos Giron 2-6, 6-3, 7-6 (3) on Monday afternoon. He’ll face the winner of the match between Jordanian qualifier Abdullah Shelbayh and Frenchman Hugo Gaston in the next round

Italian Lorenzo Sonego, the No 6 seed, reached the second round of the Metz Open by edging out American Marcos Giron 2-6, 6-3, 7-6 (3) at Arènes de Metz on Monday afternoon.
Sonego, ranked No 49, will play the winner of the match between Jordanian qualifier Abdullah Shelbayh and Frenchman Hugo Gaston next.
