Rotterdam Open: Auger-Aliassime books spot in quarter-finals

Canadian Felix Auger-Aliassime, the No 3 seed, reached the last 8 of the Rotterdam Open by defeating French qualifier Gregoire Barrere 6-4, 6-3 at the Rotterdam Ahoy on Thursday.

Auger-Aliassime, ranked No 8, will face the winner of the match between Russian Daniil Medvedev, the No 6 seed, and Dutchman Botic van de Zandschulp next.

The 22-year-old Canadian won against Italian Lorenzo Sonego (6-2, 6-3) in the previous round of the Rotterdam tournament.

During the first round of the Rotterdam tournament, Barrere, ranked No 71, beat Belgian David Goffin (6-0, 7-6 (3)).
