Rublev adds Marat Safin to his coaching team
The two-time Grand Slam champion will join Rublev’s team as the Russian has struggled for consistency

Double Grand Slam champion Marat Safin is set to join Andrey Rublev‘s coaching team, as reported by Russian media outlet Bolshe.
It is understood that Fernando Vicente will remain the primary coach for the world No 9, but that Safin will join the team to add another experience voice to the coaching set-up.
The announcement comes amid a run of poor form for Rublev, with the Russian losing his last three consecutive matches after having won his 17th ATP title last month in Doha.
Rublev has endured a mixed season, struggling to find any semblance of consistency with five of his underwhelming nine victories this year coming during his title run at the Qatar Open.
Safin will join the Doha champion in time for the season’s first clay-court Masters 1000 tournament in Monte-Carlo, an event Rublev won back in 2023 to clinch his maiden 1000-level title.
The Russian won the US Open in 2000 and the Australian Open in 2005, and claimed 15 ATP career titles in total.
