San Diego Open: Evans books spot in semi-finals

Top seed Daniel Evans won against Frenchman Constant Lestienne 6-1, 6-3 to move into the last four of the San Diego Open at the Barnes Tennis Centre on Friday evening.

Evans, ranked No 25, will play American Marcos Giron, the No 3 seed, next.

Daniel Evans beat Japanese Taro Daniel (6-4, 6-4) in the previous round of the San Diego.

Earlier in the tournament, Lestienne, ranked No 76, defeated American wildcard Brandon Holt (5-7, 7-6 (5), 6-3) and Chilean Alejandro Tabilo, the No 6 seed (6-1, 6-3).
