Jannik. After Vienna, were you and your team thinking this could happen? Were you confident you could go all the way?
JANNIK SINNER: Honestly, we took it day by day, focusing on how my body and mind felt. Vienna was a tough final but a positive experience. We adapted to the conditions here, knowing some days would feel good and others we’d have to push through. Winning this tournament is very special.
You didn’t drop a set all tournament. How are you feeling now? Relieved, proud of your team, or something else?
JANNIK SINNER: I’m really happy to share this moment with my team and loved ones. We know how much work we put in. This season is not over yet, but these moments mean a lot. It’s not just about the title, it’s about the journey. I’m relieved after an intense week and plan to rest well, both physically and mentally, before preparing for Turin.
You’ve won many titles; what makes this one special?
JANNIK SINNER: Each title is unique. Sometimes you feel great throughout the week, other times you have to cope with challenges on or off the court. This week was special because it tested me in different ways, and I’m proud of how I handled it with focus and determination despite short preparation from Vienna.
Q: What did you learn about yourself this week?
JANNIK SINNER: Usually you learn more from losses, but this week was a learning experience too, especially about understanding my body. Every day feels different. Sometimes you’re pushing through struggles even if the score looks fine from outside. The biggest lesson was how unpredictable daily performance can be.

Q: You mentioned at the US Open wanting to improve your game. How is that process going? Are you satisfied with your progress in Vienna and Paris?
JANNIK SINNER: All players want to improve. I push myself beyond my comfort zone, especially during practice, to find new strengths for the future. In matches, balance is key – trying new things while still aiming to win points. This process is ongoing for everyone. The results reinforce that the work we’re doing is right, though it comes with tough moments and losses.
Q: You’ll be back to World No. 1 on Monday. Has that changed your mindset about keeping that position?
JANNIK SINNER: It’s not all in my hands, but I’m happy. Before every match or tournament, I just focus on performing my best. Whatever happens, happens. I approached this week the same way – day by day, maximizing my potential. Now it’s time to rest and prepare for Turin with hopes to play great tennis.
